The Role

We’re currently looking for a Deputy Clinical Director - Drug & Alcohol Services who will be responsible for leading the development and management of effective and integrated D&A medical resources, clinical risk assessment and treatment systems as they pertain to the diversion, custodial and community programs.

The services and programs include: the Compulsory Drug Treatment Program (CDTP); the Drug Court Program (DCP); Opioid Agonist Treatment (OAT) and other custodial D&A clinical therapies; and release planning.
 
The key principles involved in the development of these systems are that they are streamlined; sustainable; evidence based and they reflect current community based standards.

The first step is to submit your resume and answers to the following selection criteria:

  1. Current registration as a medical practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or eligible for same. The specialist qualifications relevant to this position include fellow of the Australasian Chapter of Addiction Medicine (FAChAM), Royal Australasian College of Physicians, Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP), or other specialist recognition as provided for the Staff Specialist (State) Award.
  2. Experience in prescribing methadone/suboxone/buprenorphine and accredited authorised prescriber in NSW, or willingness to undertake same.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge, skills and clinical experience in the management of patients with drug and alcohol problems including dependence and withdrawal states.
  4. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff and to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. This includes a demonstrated ability to build a strong and positive work culture within a team.
  5. Demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills including computer literacy and ability to use all standard applications required by the NSW Ministry of Health.
