WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is seeking an experienced Senior Medical Practitioner to join the team at Esperance Health Campus. This is a Fixed Term Full Time appointment for 5 years, with the possibility of extension(s).

About the Position

In the role of Senior Medical Practitioner, you will:

• Provide shift work in the Emergency Department at the Esperance Hospital, including nights and weekends.
• Shift work is shared with local GP’s and the hospital SMP.
• Provide professional support, development and mentorship to clinical staff as required – this includes nursing staff, RMO’s and junior GP registrars.
• Provide teaching to students from the Rural Medical School during their rostered shifts in ED.
• Participate in the Medical Advisory Committee.
• Provide support to and work collaboratively with the hospital SMP to improve ED services within the hospital.

Requirements

Suitable candidates must be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) and have Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) or Fellowship of the Australian College of General Practice (FRACGP) or equivalent experience.
