Location: Department of Medicine, Division of Medical Services, Mackay Hospital and Health Service
Remuneration: Remuneration value up to $172,343 p.a. comprising salary between $4,966.90 p.f. - $5,758.70 p.f. (L4 - L9), employer superannuation contribution (up to 12.75%), annual leave loading (17.5%).

Your Opportunity:
- To advance your practice in rehabilitation care services through exposure to an exciting case mix in a supportive environment under the supervision of a collaborative unit of Specialists.
- To work closely with and learn from a wide array of Specialists with an extensive breadth of expertise.
- To develop the clinical leadership skills required to practice as an RACP Fellow.
- To participate in the provision, development, and maintenance of an effective, efficient, and equitable clinical service to hospital clients; and contribute to the continual improvement of medical education and dissemination of knowledge to staff and clients.
- The appointment will be to the Mackay Hospital and Health Service for the provision of services to the Mackay Base Hospital. However, at some future time, the appointee’s clinical duties may be extended to other health care facilities within the Health Service.
About the Rehabilitation Unit
The Mackay Base Hospital Rehabilitation Unit is a 10-bed service. It cares for a case mix of predominantly complex neurorehabilitation patients, as well as providing a service for consumers who are unable to step-down to other centres (ie. complex medical or surgical needs, dialysis, etc.). The rehabilitation team includes a rehabilitation SMO, rehabilitation advanced trainee registrar, junior doctor (JHO or SHO), and occasionally a final year JCU medical student. Additionally, the team includes senior occupational therapist, senior physiotherapist, rotational allied health (speech pathology, occupational therapy, dietician, physiotherapy), psychologist, rehabilitation/orthopaedic CNC, and social worker.
